Camden

More than a place. A vision we share with our community.

Our food partners are organic farmers, jam and jelly canners, bread bakers, brewers, and vintners. Their products are what make the Megunticook Market community what it is today.

Where and how we share food in our community is just as important as the food. Camden Hills State Park is one of the best picnic locations around with hikes and views of the lake and ocean. It is full of experiences.

Megunticook is the second highest coastal mountain along the Atlantic and is the tallest peak in Camden Hills State Park. Magnificent views are provided by two rock ledge lookouts. One of our favorite views can be found at the top of the Maiden Cliff Trail which looks out over the shimmering waters of Megunticook Lake. If you want a view waterside, try one of the beautiful walking trails through Fernald’s Neck Preserve.

A visit to Cellardoor Winery is the perfect driving excursion as Route 52 from Camden winds around Megunticook Lake, then a right fork at Youngtown Road ambles up and down the hills as you approach the winery. Stop in for a complimentary sampling of wine and stay awhile to enjoy the view.

Looking for an excursion onto Penobscot Bay, enjoy a schooner sail for a few hours, a chartered event or a 4-day trip to the islands.

We hope you enjoy the midcoast and return to visit us again.
